MBBS in Armenia 2026: Fees, NEET Rules & the September Intake

🇦🇲Armenia Checked Aug 2026 4 min read

NMC- and WHO-recognised Armenian medical universities are quoting $3,000–$5,000/year — roughly ₹15–27 lakh for the full six-year course. That makes Armenia one of the more cost-effective MBBS destinations, but NEET qualification is still mandatory, and the fee sticker price is only the starting point for planning your budget.

Fee reality check

Tuition is only one line item. Add hostel, food, insurance, local transport, winter clothing, and exam-related travel. A honest six-year cash-flow model prevents mid-course funding stress.

NEET and Indian practice pathway

NEET qualification remains mandatory for Indian students who plan to practice in India after a foreign medical degree. Graduates must still clear the required licensing examination pathway (FMGE/NExT as applicable in their cohort). Country choice does not remove that step.

Intake timeline

  • Applications often open around February for the September intake.
  • Offer letters, visa documentation, and travel should be reverse-planned from the start date.
  • Late applicants risk hostel shortages and incomplete documentation.

Is Armenia worth it?

Armenia can be cost-effective. It is not automatically "easy." Treat it with the same document discipline you would apply to any medical destination.

Due diligence questions

  • Is the programme English-medium for the full pre-clinical and clinical phases?
  • What are recent graduate outcomes for Indian students?
  • What is included in the first-year fee package?
  • Who controls the student contract — university or intermediary?
